You also need to arrange for us to receive:

  • A transcript of grades from each university you have attended
  • Your GMAT score
  • Proof of your English Language ability
  • Your application fee of £160

Your application will be acknowledged within two working days of submission. If short listed, you will be interviewed. Interviews are conducted by Executive MBA alumni or by members of the Admissions Committee. You will be notified of the final decision within one week of your interview.

What you need:

Management experience

You should hold a position of responsibility and be a decision-maker in your role. Successful applicants typically have 5 to 25 years of relevant management experience. This could include the management of people, budgets, projects, resources or processes.

Educational background

You should have a good undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification. If you do not have a degree, we may still consider your application if you have worked in a position with a high level of responsibility.

Leadership potential

You should be proactive and driven with strong leadership potential and the ability to set and achieve goals.

Career progression

You should demonstrate healthy career progression during your employment history.

Motivations for applying

We want to understand your motivations for applying to the Executive MBA and how you feel the programme will help you fulfil your career objectives.

International exposure

The Executive MBA attracts students from approximately 30 countries. We select students with an international outlook, and/or those who can build on existing international exposure. You should demonstrate your ability to work with people from different backgrounds and in cross-cultural teams.

Team skills

We place particular emphasis on working in teams. You should demonstrate flexibility and respect for different approaches. You must be able to aid the development of your fellow students and contribute to the learning environment of the School.

Admissions process

Your application will be considered by the Admissions Committee in keeping with the deadlines for the programme. The interview feedback will be used by the Admissions Committee to reach a decision which may be:

  1. Reject: Your application will come to an end for this year but the option to apply in the subsequent admission cycle is available
  2. Waitlist: LBS is not prepared to make an offer at this stage but remain open to gathering more information concerning your candidacy given the strengths of your application
  3. Offer: The exceptional merits of your application and interview mean LBS would like to offer you a place to join the EMBA programme.

Delivery Format

Students on both the London and Dubai streams will come together in London to start the Executive MBA experience. You will join together to undertake a total of three modules in London - at the start and end of the programme. All three shared modules are residential and provide the ideal environment in which to build valuable networks with an extended group of diverse peers.

The Executive MBA programme begins with Orientation, a London-based residential week dedicated to understanding the principles of general management and leadership. Following Orientation week, the two Executive MBA streams continue the core course curriculum in either London or Dubai. You study the majority of the core courses in your primary study location. In London, core courses are taught on consecutive Fridays and Saturdays of alternate weeks. In Dubai, core courses are taught in a four or five-day block each month.

During the second academic year, you take between six and eight elective courses. Schedules differ for each student depending on which electives they choose. Students embark on a compulsory week-long International Assignment and may choose a second as an elective option. You can also elect to undertake an in-company project as part of your elective credits.

The Executive MBA concludes with the London and Dubai streams coming together for two residential modules.

Programme Cost

Current tuition fees are £69,660. Fees include all tuition, required course reading materials, hotel accommodation for two residential modules in London, and hotel accommodation for one compulsory international assignment.
