The world’s leading essential oils company has announced that it will provide an additional $500,000 in new scholarships over the next five years for women attending Utah Valley University. The announcement comes as doTERRA hosted its second annual Women’s Leadership Luncheon and Fundraiser to support UVU’s Women’s Success Center. The event took place at doTERRA’s corporate office in Pleasant Grove, Utah with more than 100 women community leaders attending.

“doTERRA is committed to empowering women through education,” said Corey Lindley, founding executive, president, and CFO at doTERRA. “We are thrilled to support the UVU Women’s Success Center, as providing women with the resources to complete a degree in higher education leads to stronger communities and families for generations to come.”

The doTERRA event raised $304,209 for scholarships. The funds will help women facing financial hardship complete their education.

“Receiving a scholarship took a huge weight off my shoulders and has allowed me to focus on what is most important—my education,” said Brynn Christensen, UVU student and 2016 scholarship recipient. “I am incredibly grateful that doTERRA and UVU were there when I needed financial help for school, and appreciate their willingness to help women graduate from college.”

Christensen previously worked two jobs as a full-time student, attempting to cope with the financial burden from school. As money was running out, the scholarship came just in time, providing her with financial relief that allowed her to continue her education.

The UVU Women’s Success Center assists in coordinating the scholarships and encourages women like Brynn Christensen to earn a college degree. The Women’s Success Center continues to work with women to find scholarships that will allow them to finish their education.

Those wanting to contribute to help the Women’s Success Center achieve its mission of helping more women graduate may contact Crista Casper, major gifts officer, 801-863-7895, crista.casper@uvu.edu.
