Ambitious Young Canadian Entrepreneurs Arrive in Ottawa

Entrepreneurs / 12th June 2018

The Honourable Bardish Chagger, Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and Minister of Small Business and Tourism, kicked off the Youth Can Do It! entrepreneurship event on Sunday of last week, welcoming the 25 young entrepreneurs who were selected to take part to the nation’s capital.

Youth Can Do It!, which takes place from June 10 to 12, showcases the entrepreneurial journeys of ambitious young Canadians between the ages of 18 and 24 and demonstrates how the Government of Canada is encouraging small business development in this generation of young entrepreneurs.

Youth Can Do It! provides these passionate young entrepreneurs with the opportunity to learn from, and foster relationships with, experienced business leaders. The goal is for established entrepreneurs to provide actionable business advice that these young people can use to launch or grow their business and to create a business network. These young entrepreneurs will also get the chance to foster relationships with senior government officials.

The advice received and knowledge gained by these young entrepreneurs during their three days in Ottawa will be invaluable and will help drive their business ventures in the months and years ahead.

The evening reception was co-hosted by Futurpreneur Canada and BDC, who worked to provide a meaningful learning experience for the participants.

The complete list of the 25 selected young entrepreneurs is available on the Youth Can Do It! website.

“Young and aspiring entrepreneurs are the leaders of tomorrow. Youth Can Do It! recognizes the incredible talent, drive and inspiration of young entrepreneurs across Canada. This event is a chance for the Government of Canada to not only showcase their ambitions and their businesses but also provide them with advice and mentoring from experienced business people that will further their entrepreneurial endeavours. I am looking forward to hearing from these ambitious and creative young entrepreneurs and seeing how we can learn from their experiences.”
