Seedrs Benelux Funds First Dutch Campaign and Works With KPMG and EY

Entrepreneurs / 2nd December 2016

Following an expansion into the Benelux earlier this year, the Neil Woodford-backed equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs has funded its first Dutch campaign and signed agreements with local innovators KPMG Hub for Entrepreneurs (KHUBE) and EYnovation in Luxembourg.

Seedrs is now an official member of KHUBE, a one-stop-shop for entrepreneurship launched by KPMG Luxembourg where the focus is on educating and supporting the Benelux startup ecosystem through a joint events programme in Luxembourg.

The relationship with Ernst & Young’s EYnovation program in Luxembourg supports and facilitates Seedrs’ activities across the Benelux region. Key aspects of the partnership include collaborating at events, and introducing ambitious startups looking to raise growth capital to Seedrs.

Additionally Seedrs has announced an exclusive partnership with Ldny at the London Stock Exchange to promote female entrepreneurship and educate more women about early stage investment. Ldny has launched a fashion line called Dress to Invest and 10% of the line’s monthly profits will be invested into a female founders campaign on Seedrs every month.

The first startup to benefit from the initiative will be Cilia Rodriguez, CEO of Looks App; a FashionTech platform now live on Seedrs where time-starved online shoppers have a chance to engage with professional stylists in real time making personal style advice available to the mass market.

These exciting announcements follow the success of Fitmo, the first Dutch startup to fund on Seedrs. Fitmo is a disruptive personal training app backed by Olympic legend Haile Gebrselassie, who has broken 27 world records, and is sharing his expertise with keen runners across Europe via bespoke training programs on the App.

David Mozes, Regional Manager at Seedrs Benelux, says: “We are so impressed with the early-stage ecosystem in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. It was so exciting to support Fitmo in their successful raise on Seedrs and we look forward to welcoming many more innovative startups from the region.

“The opportunities for investors looking to back ambitious companies in the Benelux are broad and our partnerships with KPMG and EY will further enhance Seedrs reputation as a leading source of finance over here. We would also like to extend congratulations to Cilia from Looks App, chosen by Ldny as their first female founder to benefit from their new foundation.”

Seedrs Benelux welcomes FRANK about Tea, Looks App, Try Catch, POPPED Music, and NoticeSound, which will soon launch Seedrs campaigns and make more innovative Dutch brands accessible to early stage investors across Europe.
