The agreement was signed today by Mr. Idriss Jazairy, the Geneva Centre’s Executive Director and Ambassador, and Mr. Luc Craen, Vice-President and Managing Director of EU Business School, on the premises of the Geneva Centre.
With the signing of the agreement, both organizations pledge to work closely together to promote human rights in the Arab region through the development and execution of advanced educational programs. The commitment includes the organization of joint panel discussions at the United Nations Office in Geneva, the development and execution of joint training programs and the launch of research projects that are of mutual interest to both parties.
Regarding this new partnership, Mr. Idriss Jazairy stated: “The Geneva Centre’s partnership with EU Business School marks a new beginning in the Centre’s relations with leading educational institutes worldwide. We are currently also in the process of signing a similar MoU with the world-renowned Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies of Oxford University.
“The Geneva Centre strongly believes in collaborating with academic institutions such as EU Business School so as to raise awareness on human rights issues in the Arab region and to enhance global dialogue between stakeholders from the Global North and Global South. This agreement marks the beginning of this chapter.”
Following the signing of the MoU, Mr. Luc Craen, Vice-President and Managing Director of EU Business School, expressed his satisfaction and stated: “EU Business School is very excited to sign this partnership with the Geneva Centre. As a business school, we fully embrace the need to foster human and intercultural dialogue. When we look at the world today, we realize we share a common mission. We are therefore proud to be associated with the Geneva Centre, which has played a major role in this regard.”
The partnership marks a step forward in the development of both of these leading institutions, whose belief in dialogue and research aims to advance human rights in the Arab region and value-driven North-South cooperation and understanding on human rights issues.
